From a Vineyard, a School + The Five Elements of Wine
Two texts published in Calicata Magazine No. 2, Volver a lo vivo, Madrid, 2026. The first, co-written with Paisanaje, documents the living school that has grown around the vineyard of Victorio — an 85-year-old farmer in the Alberche river basin near Gredos — where harvesting, fermenting, and gathering activate a network of care and knowledge exchange around old-vine garnacha. The second, Los cinco elementos del vino, moves through water, earth, fire, air, and ether as elemental forces that converge in winemaking and fermentation, reading wine through the symbolism of tarot, the mythology of Dionysus, and the mystical alchemies that happen beyond our control. The issue also includes photographs of vine shoots that I took at the vineyard.
