Telepathy Without the Internet

Through a comparative discussion of the work of Roy Ascott and Bárbara Santos — an artist who works with ancestral Amazonian technologies — this essay proposes a decolonial approach to the telepathic qualities of digital technology. It draws a distinction between “extractive telepathy” and “regenerative telepathy,” asking what it would mean to communicate across distance without extraction, in ways that nourish rather than deplete.
